Judge allegedly stole donations for the Ten Commandments courthouse display

SAN DIEGO – Yesterday, beleaguered Hawkins County Sessions Court Judge James “Jay” Taylor in Tennessee was charged with five counts of judicial misconduct. Four of the charges allege theft, and the fifth charge is for failure to timely respond to the first four charges. One theft charge allegation is that the Judge stole the donations for the “Citizens Heritage Display” that he promised to place in the lobby of the Hawkins County courthouse. The Display would include the Ten Commandments, Bill of Rights and Picture of Lady Justice.

Judge Taylor denies all allegations of wrongdoing and asks for “everyone’s continued support, and prayers.” (Kingsport Times News).
